Why Freeride Norway Røldal & Hemsedal?
This camp is for those who want to combine the wild snowfalls of Røldal with the Alpine character of Hemsedal. In fact, Hemsedal is the most “Alpine” resort in Norway, known as the Scandinavian Alps.
We start with 4 days in Røldal, where we catch the snowfalls coming in from the fjords. Then we drive to Hemsedal for 3 days. Its three summits (the highest, Totten, 1,450 m a.s.l.) give approx. 810 m of vertical. Moreover, off-piste starts right next to the runs and in the quieter Solheisen area in Grøndalen.
While in the Tatras or the Alps you stand in huge holiday queues, we ride Norwegian plateaus and forested slopes. As a result, low attendance guarantees untouched lines all day long.
Snow, terrain and on-site care
We go in mid-February – the moment when the days get longer and precipitation statistics provide a thick base of fresh snow. Thanks to the care of a local guide, we avoid crowded spots and reach the best lines in both areas.
The contribution includes 7 days of intensive freeride (4 days in Røldal and 3 days in Hemsedal), local guide care and 8 nights (7 nights in Norwegian hytta cabins and 1 night in a hotel near Oslo). In addition, it covers transport in a comfortable 9-seat 4×4 van with studded tyres, fuel, ferries and road tolls. However, flights and ski passes are not included.
We stay in traditional, spacious cabins close to the ski spots, so you can recover well after a full day on the slopes. Rooms are for two and, moreover, a sauna guarantees an evening of relaxation.

Comparison of camps and costs
How does the Freeride Transfer Club contribution compare with agencies from Poland and abroad?

Therefore, we compare the most expensive competing camp with ours. As a result, this is how the amount spent per riding day (7 riding days) translates into value and scope of services:
| Parameter / Component | Freeride Transfer Club (our camp) | Foreign guiding operator (Scandinavia / Switzerland) | Difference / What do you gain with us? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total cost (contribution) | from €1,328 to €1,570 (excluding the €63 Wild Card) |

Why do Røldal & Hemsedal in Norway beat freeride in the Alps (e.g. Chamonix / St. Anton) in the same period?
The Alps are an absolute classic, but they struggle with overcrowding and fresh snow being tracked out quickly. The table below compares the destinations by amount of snow, crowds and costs:
| Destination | Terrain and amount of snow | Crowds | Estimated trip cost | Pure freeride / notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Norway – Røldal & Hemsedal (our camp) | Røldal: some of the heaviest snowfalls in Scandinavia; Hemsedal: stable winter climate from November to May, 640–1,450 m a.s.l., off-piste right next to the runs | Low – small groups, fewer queues than in the Alps | €1,328 – €1,570 | Hytta cabins, sauna, “Scandinavian Alps”, wild nature |
| Alps (e.g. Chamonix / St. Anton) | Temperate Alpine climate (frequent thaws below 1,800 m); variable snow – from powder to wind crust | High – a race for first tracks, powder tracked out in 1–2 hours, lift queues | Costs typical of a big resort | Mass tourism, crowded restaurants |
| Northern Norway (Lyngen Alps) | Ski touring terrain above the Arctic Circle (ski-to-sea), 3.5 h drive from Tromsø airport | Low | €1,620 – €1,850 (agency from Poland) | Freetouring programme: touring gear and 1,000–1,600 m of ascent per day |
